Arrival of prestigious UK print rail media expert signals launch of exciting new platform for BDG's railbusinessdaily.com

One of the most well-known names in the UK printed rail media has joined Business Daily Group's railbusinessdaily.com family for an exciting new journey.
Christian Wiles has joined railbusinessdailiy.com in an attempt to shake up the rail industry magazine world with the launch of its first publication, RailDirector, due to be premiered in September.

The brand new printed and online magazine will be distributed, 12 times per year, exclusively to rail industry directors.

Covering everything from track to train it will be a much sought after magazine rail related organisations will want to appear in and those interested in the rail industry will want to read.

David McLoughlin, Chief Executive Officer of Business Daily Group, says the news marks an exciting new chapter for one of the leading names in UK rail media.

He said: “The rail industry is not one to slow down. Neither are we at Business Daily Group as we reveal the launch of RailDirector.

“It further demonstrates our commitment and vision to be the voice of the UK rail industry and to have multiple platforms to tell the stories that matter most.

“The aim of RailDirector is to be the rail industry’s foremost publication focused entirely on the business of Britain’s railways, creating industry insights and sharing news, views and good practice.

“We are really pleased that Christian agreed to lead this business and with high profile contributors already signed up for the first edition with some strong and useful articles, I can’t wait for the first edition to be released in September. ”The magazine comes on the back of the exceptional growth of railbusinessdaily.com, the UK’s leading rail industry business website voiced by the industry.

In just three years, the online news platform reaches 50,000 rail professionals every day and has more than four million visits to the website every year (upgraded to six million in February 2021).

The business has soon outgrown its headquarters in East Yorkshire, with an additional West Yorkshire base to be unveiled soon, complemented by a new London office and teams already hard at work in India and Australia – giving 24-hour a day coverage.

RailDirector sits alongside railbusinessdaily.com, RBD Marketing, RBD Advisory, RBD Community the Ultimate Rail Calendar and RBD Recruitment Services (renamed RBD Stride in January 2021).

Christian said: “It is a wonderful opportunity to head our publications business and I am incredibly excited in the run up to the launch of the first RailDirector.

“railbusinessdaily.com has already been on an incredible journey of expansion and in a relatively short period of time has become a leading source for everyone connected with the rail industry.

“That is only going to accelerate with the ambition and ideas of everyone involved in the business.

“I look forward to playing my part, starting with the release of RailDirector, which I believe will help organisations to do more business together. The magazine will be packed with interesting interviews, features, news stories, insight articles and most importantly contacts.

“Similar to the hugely successful newsletter, the magazine will be by the industry for the industry with the aim of creating a professional force for good, not just for the industry’s big businesses but also the Small to Medium Enterprises (SMEs).

“This is an era of real opportunity for everyone involved in the rail industry and we hope RailDirector will have something for everyone – helping organisations to achieve big.”

Christian has wasted no time in recruiting his new team with Freddie Neal now in place to support the team from a content and commercial perspective. Chris Cassidy, an experienced magazine publisher, has also joined RailDirector.
